"The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they open their 42nd National Hockey League season on Saturday, October 11, against the New York Rangers at the Wachovia Center. In addition, the National Hockey League announced that the Colorado Avalanche, Los Angeles Kings and the San Jose Sharks will be the Flyers’ interconference “at-large” opponents this season. The Flyers will play each of those teams twice, and every other Western Conference team once.

The complete 2008-09 schedule will be released on Thursday, July 17 at noon."

Kind of wish it was Washington, Montreal, or $hitsburgh for the home opener but oh well. It will be nice to beat down the Rags and watch their fans leave the Wachovia Center dejected.
