We should wait until we know facts before discussing the money. Jones is good and getting better, he should continue to be a solid defenseman.

I was commenting that if it became fact that is was 2.75 total I would like it. This is not to say if it was 2.75 per I wouldn't like it.

I'm thinking the 2.75M per season quote is just another one of the Flyers beat writers getting their facts wrong again...

Yeah I really don't buy to much into any of the "reports".......it's all just for discussion so that later they can steal our opinions.

Eddie Moran wouldn't know an "inside story" if it came up and bit him in the butt. I don't give this comment any credibility at all until I read it from an official source. And I'm sorry, but Moran isn't an official source in any way. And knowing the type of reporter(term used VERY loosely) Moran is, he may have gotten the wording wrong and meant to say "for the length of the contract" instead of "per season". That's certainly possible with a guy like Moran.
$2.75 mil a season? That would mean a raise of 2.2 mil a season.?.? I like Jonesy a lot, but I don't believe he's shown he deserves a raise as much as that.
Now, granted, we all don't know what's going on in talks with FAs throughout the league to get an idea of what certain players are looking for with the recent cap increase. So, saying he's getting overpaid may be a bit premature, since it may be the case that other dmen of his caliber are going to be signing for that type of cash. I hope not, because it won't be long until the NHL is back in trouble again. But, it may be the case.

With the money Homer is throwing around, i sure hope there are no injuries this year.

2.75 is Brent Burns money or Volchenkov. Randy Jones is not either of those guys. Dont get me wrong I like Randy but not for 2.75.....thats way too much.

I read somewhere else that Jones was close to a deal that was for 3 years/$4 million which would only be $1.33 mill per season.

Good deal if it is 2.75 TOTAL.
Bad deal if it is 2.75 PER year.
It better be the first one. Jones isn't worth that type of money each year IMO.

I highly doubt that Homer is going to sign Jones for twice as much as Coburn signed for. That would be a big slap in Coburns face.

WTF dammit Homer, Jones if thats how much money Jones is gettting then guy is overpaid. Jones is a 5th defenceman at best and he's no Commodore or Weber type of player.
Should have given more money to Coburn instead.

Officially, the Jones deal is not completed. If those $2.75 rumors are correct, I will bet it's for the life of a two-year deal.

This.
There's no way Jones is getting $2.75M/year. It has to be a typo. Calm down people. Homer's not stupid.

Goat just got waived for the reason of being bought out. Ramholt was acquired Calgary.
