If you haven't already noticed some board members have already jumped on the Sean Avery train.

Now why would we want Sean Avery? I will tell you why.

Avery played Left Wing for the Rangers but is capable of being a Center. What we do is we trade Knuble for a pick or prospect. Free up that 2.8 in cap. Avery only made 1.9 million last season and wouldn't get a big raise.

So what are the benefits of getting Avery? We free up a little bit of cap. We can move Briere off center and onto the wing and move Carter up to line 2 where he can play to his potential. Making the lines look something like this.

Gagne - Richards - Briere
Lupul - Carter - Giroux
Upshall - Avery - Hartnell
Cote - ??? - Thoresen

Timonen - Coburn
Eminger - Hatcher
Parent - Jones?

Biron
Niittymaki

Heck the tad extra cap space we save from getting Avery and moving Knuble we could release Jones and possibly get a decent defenseman in the FA. Or call up GAUTHIER!!!

Avery's not good enough to be a shutdown center. He's also asking for far too much money ($4M+). Knuble > Avery. No way I dump him for Avery.

Somehow Sean Avery has made himself into a marketable and highly overrated player. I attribute this mostly to his keen fashion sense. That said, Avery isn't a particularly good player, he is a terrible teammate, and generally is a pretty bad person. I think we are much better off without him.

He would be like best friends with Upshall and Hartnell.
They would all sit in the penalty box together and Upshall will be like, "Man I hate Crosby!" And Avery will be like, "Yeah man me too!" And then Hartnell will make a joke about Crosby's pubic hair beard and they will all get along on be best friends because of that special bond they have based on there hatred for everyone else.

And Upshall and Avery can share women. Upshall can have Avery's hooker and Avery can have Upshall's p0rn star.

Avery is an embaressment to the game. This is a guy that had the league make up a special rule for because he is an ignorant piece of trash that shouldn't even be allowed to play in the NHL or even the ECHL. He makes guys in the beer league look more respectable.

^^ I find that comment funny. What Avery did at the moment were completely within the rules and I don't think they should've changed that. You have to realize you sacrifice one player by doing that, is it really worth it?

I have heard this quote before. And it was the number 1 reason I hated Avery. But that's in the past man.

I like Avery and think he fits the Flyers mold, but not at $4 mil., don't like him that much.

I think if we signed him, it would force the NHL to make another rule: that no combination of Avery, Downie, Upshall, or Hartnell could be on the ice at the same time.

Haha if you talked to me like a month ago and before I would have been one of the biggest Avery haters. I heard that quote a long time ago when it happened. That quote was said back when Gauthier was still on the Yotes and Avery was a King. I have had time to coop.

Avery has won me over though with his amazing fashion sense though. And idiotic tactics.

Let me just say that just because I have an Avery avatar, does not mean I am aboard the Avery train just yet. GOAT has warmed me up to it a little bit, but since this little group formed because of me, I got the av because it was my responsibility as the origin of all of this Avery hype. GOAT and Eric will have to work a little harder to convince me that it's a good idea...
