M.Opaliski
I was born in Philadelphia in 1974, the year the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup. Growing up I was always a fan, as much as a kid could be, watching games on TV (remeber PRISM ?), went to a few games as a kid having gotten tickets as Christmas or Birthday gifts from family. I have always been a fan of the game and definately a Flyers fan. Heck, at one point while I was still living at home I had white walls and orange trim in the bedroom, and that's because mom wouldn't let me paint the walls black.

I'm thinking it was the mid to late 80's when I really got into the game and started to "follow" the team. Some of my favorites over the years ...

Tim Kerr
Pelle Eklund
Brian Propp
The Sutters
Rick Tocchet
Dave Poulin
Ron Hextall
Pete Zezel
Mark Howe
Eric Dejardins
Murray Craven
Chris Therien
Gordy Murphy

That's a short list, wanna add to it ...

GutterTheGreat220
Lindsay Carson
Garry Galley
Brad McCrimmon
Daryl Stanley
Dave Brown
Kevin Dineen
Pelle Lindbergh
Brad Jones
Mark LaForest
Jiri Latal
Tony Horacek

Yeah I have some obscure names, hardly anyone here born in the mid 80s remembers.

1st name i thought of
not becasue i liked him because i didnt think he would make anyones list

Did you think Michel Petit would make anyones list? How about Dave Babych...Adam Oates? laugh.gif

I was born in 88 and I don't remember following the Flyers until the mid 90s (probably right when they started to contend again.)
More Seriously:
The Legion of Doom (Lecair, Lindros, Renberg): They were the first trio I ever remember watching in a game.
Ron Hextall... Do I need to say anything?
Rod Brind'amour: this guy epitomizes worth ethic.
Eric Desjardins: I don't think the Flyers realized how much he was worth until he retired.
Jeremy Roenick: One of the best personalities on and off the ice.
Keith Primeau: Helluva player, too bad his career was cut short.
Mark Recchi: When he was on, he was REALLY on, plus he had a lot of heart.

Eric Lindros
Eric Desjardins
Eric Hextall
missjuliek
Of all time...Eric Desjardins & Mike Knuble (I liked him since I began watching hockey, when he was with Detroit. I always wanted him on the Flyers and I was so happy to have gotten my wish haha.)

And others:
Keith Primeau
Rod Brind'Amour
Mike Sillinger (Dont know why but I personally liked him. Looking back, Im not sure why!)
Craig Berube (Chief is one of the nicest people I have EVER met in hockey)
Bernie1
Brind'Amour was by far my favorite player when i was a kid. he's the nicest celebrity i've ever met (though he's not really overly famous). Then i liked Brian Boucher, Bernie Parent, Dave Schultz, Keith Primeau, Bill Barber, Rich MacLeish, Reggie Leach, Bobby Clarke, Brian Propp, Mark Howe, Dorny, and Recci. i made a flyers collage back a few years ago for photoshop class in high school. i included all my favorite players and a few others.

Eric Hextall

Eric Lindros has always been my favorite, after he left it became John LeClair.

My favorite was Lindros in his prime, being born in 74 i remember a lot of those 80's teams. Let's give an honorable mention to JJ Daigneault and who can't have the "VOICE" of the FLYERS GENE HART!! Nobody called a game better than Gene Hart with the Chief Bobby Taylor. Do you remember who replaced them on PRISM????

Answer: Mike Emrick and Bill Clement
KFT15
Primeau, Roenick, Lindros and LeClair. I got into Hockey just a few years ago.

^ And I don't care how Lindros left, he was amazing to watch. My dad would make me watch the games when I was little, and Lindros was the only guy I wanted to see.

What, no Therien? laugh.gif

Cool pictures. I've gotta get to this carnival at some point.
SwedeFlyer
Eric Lindros
Mikael Renberg
John Leclair
Dale Hawerchuk
Keith Primeau
Pelle Eklund
Joel Otto

Paul Coffey
Kjell Samuelsson
Karl Dykhuis
Chris Therien
Eric Desjardins

Ron Hextall

I choose players no longer playing in the NHL. Not necessarily for what they did for the Flyers perhaps (Hawerchuk). Dykhuis is a cool name.

Hehe, I'm afraid I don't go back that far, I remember Lindros from 1997. It was a lot harder 10 years ago (I was 11 then) to follow hockey (in the Netherlands) without internet.

It was just me and another guy, a friend of mine who were into hockey (he was a Red Wings fan though)

Rico and Prims are definitely my two favorites.

brian propp and ron hextall are the two players that got me addicted to hockey. well them and my mom who was a huge flyers fan. some of my other favorites have been john leclair, mark howe, and some of the lesser players like trent klatt, ilkka sinisalo, brent fedyk, and pat falloon
Thor
I have been a Flyers fans since 1971 and there have been so many great players over the years, but I'll try to keep the list short. I know I have missed a few, but these are ones off the top of my head.

(Not in any specific order)

Roenick
Brind'amour
LeClair
Lindros--I know that I may catch some flack about this choice, but he had a lot of talent back in the day.
Primo
Clarke
Desjardins
Handzus
Barber
Parent
Schultz
Macleish
Kerr
Linsemen
Ruffles
Kevin Dineen
Dmitrij Juskevich
Ron Hextall
Rod Brind'amour
Justin Williams
Kim Johnson
Marcus Ragnarsson
Mark Recchi
John LeClair
Jeremy Roenick
Keith Primeau

Roenick was not only a class player for us, he was a real personality (and still is)! About half of the players above were in the 2004 playoff team. Iīm still convinced had the Flyers made it to the finals, they wouldīve won the Cup that year. It feels like if the Flyers were ever to win the Cup, it was in 2004. With the incredible team they had... Now itīs like starting from scratch again.

OrangeAndBlack
Does anybody remember Dave Richter? He was an enforcer whp layed briefly in the mid 80s. He wasn'tmuch of a hockey player, but the guy could fight. He used to grab the opponent's collar with his left hand and then fire away with his right (or was it the other way around?) so rapidly that th eother guy couldn't even get set.

My list goes like this:

Lindros
LeClair
Hextall
Gagne
Primeau
Desjardin

...I hope I spelled all those right.

My current favorite player is a tie between Carter, Richards and Upshall.
