Full Version: Anyone else have a problem with renewals due by June 18

Ive been a season ticket holder for 6 years now and this season the Flyers want their renewal by the June 18th the Stanley Cup just ended free agency doenst start till July 1 so who knows who they are going to sign or draft and they finished up with the worst season in memory. I was left many times last season eating my tickets cause noone wanted to pay for them or even at a reduced price. I understand the 7 payment plan pushes it up a month but maybe push it back a month at least till July to see what the team is going to look like this year.

I'm not renewing then. If worse comes to worse i'll just buy out half of my uncle's season which is 4 rows behind the away goalie...I'm not coming to terms with anything until I see what this team is going to look like. I had to eat so many tickets last season...not fun!

Ya thats what I am concerned about I lost alot of $ last year on season tickets I pay $4000+ and if they have another year like last year I dont know what I am going to do I realize they arent going to make the playoffs every year and die hards are 90% of Flyer fans as am I but I do not think it is fair that I commit for the year for something that I do not know what they look like or what they are going to do...

what a waste of a season ticket holders section

Mods,

Please move this thread to the STH section. Thanks.

I agree that they are pushing the envelope on the early renewals. They want you committed before they get into free agency and you are stuck. I go back to Feb 2006 when they wanted playoff ticket money earlier than usual. After Feb the team went downhill right into the Buffalo slaughter. It was a waste of money and they fooled me that they were a better team. I was Forsberg zoned out and I paid for it.

I also have spoke with some of the people who sit around me and there are a lot of cancellations of STH's. I have Diamond Club tickets for the Phillies and I was sitting in the bar last nite and I heard three guys next to me talking that they were done with their Flyers season tickets. Tax write off or not they were cancelling. It should be interesting when the Flyers start telling you what their STH base is for 2007-2008. It will be more of the small packages that they will identify as STH. Smoke and mirrors.

Hey - I'll let you know then. This will be my first year as a season ticket holder. If I can get Lower Level seats then I'll let you know. If that's the case, then *yes* - they have less STHs than we all think but I'm sure that won't be the case.

I find it funny that you are "giving up" on the Flyers yet sticking it out with the Phils! Don't get me wrong, I love all my Philly Sports Teams but the Phillies have much bigger problems than the Flyers do - yes, even after what happened last year.

In any event, thank you for sharing your thoughts on this whole ordeal.

Baseball and hockey are like apples and oranges. Can always sell my 70.00 Phils tickets for twice as much. My Flyers ticket are 73.00 each. I agree with you about the Phils, but it is supply and demand. Try to get two lowers for the Phils in the first 15 rows from first to third. Long waiting list or they will try to put you in the last rows 32 34 etc. The Diamond Club forget about it!!! How do the Flyers have the pick a seat for the STH's? You show up in September and you can move your seats. When the Wachovia was first opened I was unhappy with the location they assigned me from the Spectrum. It took three seasons before I could make any type of move. Now they have all these seats available in Sept if you want to move. You know they would sell them if they could. So please let me know if you have any problem getting lowers. Don't bite on the first offer they make unless you are totally happy. If you say no I don't want them it is like buying a car, they will make a better offer.

I only continue to keep my Flyers tickets because they're just $1848 a year for 2 seats. You have full season Phillies tickets as well? I just have the Flyers and Eagles season tickets.

It really is a bad way to do business. For all the lip talk about family they have a tendency to stick it to the fans.

How many of you remember when it was your choice if you wanted to buy pre=season tickets or not. Then when they were full and had a waiting list for sth's they forced them on us.

I go to a couple games a year. I usually ask around and pay good $$ or buy them online. Even if they are doing well- it's hard to have me part with my money.
