Full Version: STHs - Where are your seats?
Philadelphia Flyers > Forum > General Flyers Discussion > Season Ticket Holders

This year will be my first year and I won't be picking my seats for another month or so (until everyone renews their seats from last year).

I'm really excited to be a season ticket holder - I always knew that I was going to buy them the year after I graduated from college despite whatever kind of year they had the year before (haha - never thought it would be *that* bad though!)

Just curious as to where you all sit and how long you've had them. Hope to see some of you around Wachovia Center this year and with any luck - at the block parties come mid-April cool.gif

I wish you well fresh out of college and getting season tickets. As I posted earlier I have been a season ticket holder since day one in 1967. I have decided (not just last year) but for sometime now the Flyers are headed in the wrong direction. I notified the Flyers I will not be returning for my 41st season. I had a great run and saw some of the best players in the world that you guys only read about, Glenn Hall, Gump Worsley, Howe, Bobby Hull, Phil Esposito. I saw the Flyers win two Stanley Cups and kick the deleted out of the Russians. I keep saying there is no emotion now on that bench where I sit. If you didn't experience the "Broad Street Bully Days" you will never understand. Other teams were afraid to come into the Spectrum. The fans we were Kings and behind a GREAT TEAM. You couldn't get tickets for a game and the season ticket waiting list took over ayear to get in. I hope you younger fans get the chance to win a cup and go to a parade on Broad St. 1973 & 1974 was awesome years in Philadelphia. But you can't live in the past bringing in retired players as management etc. You must move FORWARD. When Snider and Clarke are out for good the necessary changes will take place.

Gave Up -

I hear you and I understand what you're saying. Times have definitely changed. No I would never understand the BSB days and the Spectrum since I wasn't even alive for that time but as dumb as it sounds, 40 years from now people might be saying "nothing was like Wachovia Center - it was crazy" etc.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the team and your disappointment over the years. I am young and I would love to see the glory days in the future like you did in the 70s. I haven't had the great opportunity like you did and I hope that I can say that I saw the Flyers win a Stanley Cup in Wachovia Center at some point in my life.

Welcome to the family!!!! I have had mine for 3 seasons, I am in section 207a . Love the section great seats and great STH in this section

I have 2 seats in Section 219A Row 15. They are in the last row and the only thing behind me is the wall. I've been a STH since 94. These are the cheapest seats in the house and I don't have to worry about the wall spilling beer on the back of me. In the Spectrum, I was up on the 3rd level and the railing was always in the way. I would have to raise my head up and down to see around the railing. The seats I have now, I can see the whole ice with no problem at all.

hey neighbor...I am in 220 row 13...you probably heard me a lot during the season. I made comments about Hatcher, Pitfulkanen, Clarke, Holmgren, Ed Snider and so on.... laugh.gif

Yup! I know I have heard ya, but sometimes I have to hear what you said from other fans as it trickles over to my seats. I can't always hear your exact words, but I do hear the fans chuckle. If you see a Samoan dude with a ponytail in 219A Row 15 that's me. I can't wait for the season to start!

yeah i know exactly you are now..... laugh.gif I've been sitting in 220 for like 6-7 years now(friend of mine is in row 15) , I got my season tickets there in 2002. Small world. I miss yelling at Clarke tho. laugh.gif

The fans at the very top yell the funniest things! So many more diehards up there than downstairs (or so it seems).

A few of my favorites were:

"Shut Your Yap" - starting the chant in the ECF in 2004 towards Tortorella
"Always a Flyer" - a fan in the upper deck yelling to Primeau during his speech
"Time for Another Thorough Investigation!" - a fan yelling at Snider after his public comments of wanting to have a thorough investigation on what was going wrong with the team. That fan yelled that line during the 8-2 loss to Pittsburgh .

All classics...

I remember the "Always a Flyer" you could hear that clearly no matter where you were sitting in the house. It definitely feels like there are more diehards upstairs!

You can still yell at Clarke because he'll probably be sitting up top on our left.

He's not there anymore. He always have popcorn and a diet pepsi. I yelled for Holmgren to trade me or put me on waivers, so instead I renewed for next season.

I'm in section 219A as well. Row 13, seats 17 and 18. Me and 3 buddies split the full season plan so we each get 10 games. Have had them for numerous years now and love the section and the seats. Can't wait for the home opener this year.

Sounds like a definite plan! I think the little old lady your talking about is Sylvia who runs the imported beer stand across the restrooms and behind Section 219. She doesn't know my name, but she knows what to get me without asking. That is two Heinekens! Do you remember that dude that used to be her partner Tony? He used to throw the empty cans behind his back and make it in the trash can.

LMFAO - I love watching some of the Aramark employees at 'The Center' get our brewskies. I was always amazed how they cracked open a beer and tilted it in the plastic cup so it would pour itself (while taking our money) and thinking that the Cup would fall over.
