Has anyone heard a date on when this service will be launched? The Opener is just three weeks away and I have not heard anything?

Maybe someone could go above and beyond and send them an email today asking them about when this will start? I would, but I can't really email from work...if no one does today, I'll send them one tonight.

I'm guessing they're holding off as long as possible to increase the chances of selling their individual tickets that remain before STHs post their seats (better selection) and decreasing the chances of selling the extra individual tickets that they still have.

Thanks in advance to anyone who does this! smile.gif

I have not heard anything and am in the same boat as you...at work and cannot get to my personal email, then I am heading to the game straight from there.

If you get a chance to email you may want to check on the $50 credit for STH they had mentioned before, I would like to know sooner or later what the deal is with that so some random person who wins my tickets on Ebay are not using the credit.

Thanks alot!

I just emailed the Flyers about this...I will let you know as soon as I hear any details.

I asked about information like who is responsible for shipping, fees charges to the seller/buyer, and when it will be launched. Hopefully they give me some info!
PhilaFlyer85
Here was the email I received..

<<<Josh,

Thanks for the email. Ticket marketplace will launch on October 1st. Season ticket holders are the only sellers on the site and anyone from the public can purchase the tickets, all they have to do is register. The buyer will be paying a fee, although I am not sure at this time what the fees are. The fees will also vary based on delivery method. Look for more information to be available on the website closer to the launch date. >>>

I'm trying to register but I get an error that simply states - "There was a problem adding the new user. " Password is between 6-20 chars. Using my STH account number and pin.

Anyone else having problems registering? The Help link is broken - I was hoping to get a phone number or email address for customer support.

I am getting the same thing as well, will try tomorrow but it looks like some people have already posted.

I emailed the Flyers - you can't register until October 1st. It appears that everything is set up to be working and on the site but they will "officially" launch this feature for buyers/sellers tomorrow. It has positives and negatives to it:

Positives - You get 100 % of the price that you post them for (which cannot be below the face value on the front of your ticket), the Flyers handle all sales and shipping (they print new tickets and mail/email the tix to the buyer - your Season Ticket barcode is then "invalid"), fans will see these tickets before broker sites since there are so many broker sites and only one official flyers website

Negatives - Buyers pay 20% extra of the price of the final ticket sale (that's pretty steep), Sellers don't get their money until the end of the year - the Flyers store all of the sales on an account and at the end of the year the buyer can request a refund check or to have it applied to playoff tickets/or a downpayment for next years' season tickets

Just my $0.02...but at least the Flyers are giving Buyers the option to get seats that are sold out to STHs on their website and STHs the option to sell their extra tickets...

Thanks for the update/info PhilaFlyers85.

I emailed the Flyers as well but haven't heard back yet although I tried registering again this morning and still can't.

I'm thinking that 20% commission is probably going to deter a lot of people and not getting the $$$ back until the end of the season kinda stinks but it's all better than eating the total cost of the tickets I can't sell by other means.

I agree completely. Although 20 % is steep, I'm still guessing that more fans will see the tickets on Flyers.com as opposed to dozens of broker sites out there. You can just use the money of tickets sold and put it towards playoff seats, a deposit for next year, or get the refund check in spring.

You CAN register now...I'm guessing it was launched at 10 AM.

Yep - I'm registered now and I already see a bunch of seats listed for sale. It was a PIN problem - I don't know where they came up with the PIN that was emailed to me but it worked.

It looks like there will be a $3.50 ORDER charge applied on top of whatever the SERVICE charge is calculated to be - which we're hearing is 20% of the sale price.

If nothing else this will be another way to sell some of the unused seats we have.

<< My seats are in Section 212 row 7 seats 1 & 2 if anyone is interested. >>

By the way, does anyone know at exactly what point after the sale the barcode gets deactivated? Timing could be critical for any tickets you have listed on the Marketplace...you need to make sure to remove the listing before selling to anyone via any other means if it's an automatic thing.

I emailed the Flyers for confirmation.

The response I got back from the Flyers is that when the tickets are bought vie the Marketplace, the barcode on your ticket gets deactivated. So keep this in mind when you have tickets posted on the Marketplace.

Wow, tickets are flooded on the site, not sure how well these will sell on the site. I imagine I will need to ebay most of the games I don't go to, but I guess we will see.

I was thinking the same thing...you HAVE to list them for the face value printed on the ticket - not what we actually pay for them with the discount and then the Flyers tack on 20 % ON TOP of that...I don't know how they expect any of these seats to sell. Maybe just for the big games like the opener and division rivals. Fans can get tickets cheaper on broker sites or ebay even with the fees they pay there.

There are certain games that I KNOW I can't make and I am doubtful that they'll sell on ticket marketplace.

I have listed them on Craigslist and another broker site as well but am having no luck with certain games. (i.e. the Thrashers game on Oct 16th) - look how many of those tix are on sale on marketplace....NO CHANCE they're all gettin sold.

I just want to get the price that i paid for the tickets (or close to that). Tickets aren't in demand like they were in the past. I just don't want to have to "eat" any of the tickets by not being able to sell them at all - that would be a killer...

I never used Ebay and I hear they have high prices for listing tickets and I'm not too sure about the whole paypal thing either...I'm new to that so I never really thought about trying it.

Good luck! I posted a game or two on that a while ago and it's a joke - no one will pay full price plus 20 % for tickets on there when they can go to ebay and get tickets below face value.

I doubt many people will use that site to buy tickets at all - look at the broker sites, they have tickets for the Thrashers game close to 50 % of the face value and you can pick the tickets up on game day at the holiday inn right next to the sports complex.

If you post on the flyers site you have to list them for the full face value and then they get nailed with all of those fees.

You're better off selling extra tickets to scalpers outside of the rink.

I just checked stubhub - you can buy tickets in row 13 section 219 A - $12 a piece for that game. Yours would be $24 + 20 % = around $30. I'm just saying, you're more likely to sell tickets on other sites than Ticket Marketplace - I don't even think I'm going to try that anymore.

I couldn't agree more, the only time you could maybe sell tickets on this site is for the playoffs, I am just selling everything on EBAY because that is where I get the most action. Stub Hub charges a pretty hefty fee as well if I remember correctly plus a ton for shipping.

You are probably right. I expect to eat some tickets each year, but give this a shot since I don't have to meet anyone or drop the ticket off somewhere.

Yeah I hear ya man...I wasn't trying to fire an argument over putting your ticket for sale on there - I myself am disappointed that they make you list them for the full face value plus add 20 % to the buyer because that makes it less likely that the tickets will even sell.

Of course I understand they have to do this because the Flyers still need to sell their unsold tickets to the public. If we could sell for the price that we paid (STH discount) then the Flyers wouldn't be able to sell the rest of their inventory so I know where they're coming from too.

I sold tonight's game vs. NJD for $200.00. Section 119. Not to shabby.... wink.gif . I was surprised to sell them to be honest with you. I have sold on stubhub as well but they take commission. I will be listing more games in the marketplace as the season rolls along.

Someone got screwed...LMFAO

I need to sell Flyers vs Dallas on December 1st. I have them listed on Stubhub but no one bit yet. Maybe I'll try marketplace - I know they don't charge commission for tickets sold but they dont get you your money right away which sucks.

I'm not worried about getting the $ right away..credit towards post season ( or next season which is more likely) works fine for me. As for someone getting screwed..lol..I look at it like a good business transaction on my part! wink.gif

Does anyone know if you can post your tickts for 2008 yet, it looks like it ends on 12/27 and does not list the other games?? I actually just sold my first game through the site!!

I just went to buy tickets for the Flyers/Pens game on 1/24 and it wanted to charge me a $50 service charge! How ridiculous!

I'll continue to use e-bay from now on. sad.gif

It's a 20% charge on all orders, the higher the price of the tickets the higher the service charge ...

exactly...i said it once and i'll say it again...the flyers HAVE to charge a fee like that because they charge somewhere around 10 % for individual ticket sales through comcast tix; and they want to make sure they can sell their unsold individual game tickets before they worry about STHs selling. This is just an "extra" that they created for the fans.

If the Flyers charged 5 or 10 % per transaction, then why would anyone buy the unsold tickets through the Flyers?
M.Opaliski
Not only that, the seats that are on sale or up for bid at the Ticket Market Place are not available to the general public through Comcast Tix because they're already sold to Season Ticket Holders, you're getting access to tickets that are otherwise unattainable. And, the 20% charge covers the cost of maintaining the site and maintaining all of the accounts for the STH folks that use the option, it's not really about profit as far as I see it ...

But hey, you don't have to use it ...

you're right....sure they're making some bucks out of the deal; put they're also putting time and money into it as well. This was an idea by STH's brought to the Flyers so they took that idea and created marketplace.

So...there's no way for a Flyer fan to get rid of tickets at face value without going through ebay? Stinks.
