Full Version: Help on acquiring Flyers memorabilia

So glad to see the Flyers with an "Official" messageboard now. It'll make this season that more interesting. I hope this is the right place to put this post....

Thanks to my years in the Air Force and growing up a military brat, I'm a misplaced Flyers fan that's currently residing in San Antonio, TX. If not for NHL Center Ice and the internet, I would've committed hockey suicide years ago.

And if you think following hockey in Texas is tough....it's even tougher trying to keep up with my true hobby love....Game Used memorabilia. Over the years, I've been able to acquire some pretty great pieces of my two favorite Flyers - Ron Hextall & Simon Gagne, but I'm hoping some of the Flyers faithful here can point me in the right direction in acquiring a few white whale pieces I've been hunting for the past few years.

If anyone here has any idea where I can go or who I can contact to get a pair of Simon Gagne worn skates or a Pelle Lindbergh used stick, I'm forever in your debt. I tried the Skate Zones and a few other Flyers dealers, as well as the team itself and have had no luck.

Thanks for listening, and any help if you can. Hope to be around the boards a lot during the season.

Best Regards,
Chris

Hmmm, game worn skates. That is a tricky one. I would say the obvious, that being Ebay. But NHL.com have auctions through Ebay, in which they sell game worn jerseys etc and limited memorabillia on there. Worth a try. Good luck!

There was a guy in I think the Echelon Mall or the Cherry Hill Mall, but that was a while ago and that is a tough business when renting mall space.

The Pelle stick will be tough, no matter where you live! But I may have a way to get you a pair of gags skates though....I'll bring it up in conversation next time I see my guy.

Well...I've got a white helmet. Depending on the skates, I'd probably trade it for a pair...haha

I had a buddy get the helmet signed for me at a show in Jersey a year or two ago. I've got pics of it on my site.

And I appreciate all the help everyone! Hoping I can finally snag a pair this year.

Skates may have to wait til into the season for now....but I'll remember you. There are game issued Umberger vapor xxx lite sticks at the FSZ in Voorhees if you're interested. I believe sticker is 180. Once the season rolls around though, I'll work on Gags skates for you...any Phantoms gear? That's obviously far easier to obtain...including skates. Lots of one90 model skates were available last I checked.

Meigray has equipment of some of its contracted teams, but haven't seen any for Flyers (only game worn jsys)

Wow, a Downie helmet w/ shield
http://www.meigray.com/edealinv/servlet/Ex...=-1&Admin=N

Only current player they have. Have pricey Forsberg helmet too.

They've got a couple of vintage sticks, incl. Hextall, Lindros, Leclair, Desjardins, Brind'Amour (signed by several players from that era), and game-used pucks for specific games from past season.

Meigray is official outside provider of game-used jsys, sticks, helmets, pucks, etc. for Flyers and NHL.

It's like an overpriced garage sale. A lot of junk nobody wants anymore, but at rip-off prices.

If Timonen is your man, check this out!

At the Wachovia Center, behind Sec 112 I think, they have Flyer's Game worn and used Memorabilia.

Some garage sale--that shielded helmet is a goner, and at a very reasonable price compared to what would be charged at Wach, if even available.

Whoever bought it, get that sucker signed up by Downie on July 12th at Moorestown Mall!

Pls share some pics of it.

Hey Chris,
Did you just 'win' an autographed Ron Hextall RC buyback on eBay? If so you won it from me! There cannot possibly be 2 Flyers' fans named Chris in San Antonio, can there?

I was reading your post & thought "its a shame I didn't see this sooner. I could've offered him that Hextall card." Then the whole 'San Antonio' thing rang a bell...well, you get the drift. SMALL WORLD!

Take Care,
Dennis

Does anyone know where I could get a Pink Riley Cote Jersey? It's my g/f's Bday soon and she loves Cote and I wanted to get her that. If someone could help me, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

You can either get this one:

http://shop.nhl.com/product/index.jsp?prod...dy_bestsell_img

Or get the older version (it only comes in large on this site):

http://www.rivercitysports.com/US/details-06.cfm?sku=108880

It's pretty hard to find now, but you might want to even call the store at the Wachovia Center to see if they have any left on hand. Of course, eBay is a good place to look, too:

This guy is selling a bunch of pink jerseys with Richards' name sewn on the back. If you're desperate, you can always purchase the size you want from the seller, and send it to a place like www.icejerseys.com to have the Richards' name taken off and then affixed with Cote's name and number. They do excellent work.
