Sbisa-Carle for pres. Love the pairing these two are going to be a dynamic defensive pairing by the end of this year
Kappy
They've done better than I expected, but they still make me feel a little uncomfortable. They're both young and offensive minded and aggressive forecheck and pressure makes them commit a lot of poor decisions and turnovers. They both also try some crazy blind passes in the neutral zone. I wish we wouldn't have to be so dependent on these kids.
Dave
I like this pairing as well and they're going to make mistakes because they are young but I think they have a lot of promise.
Meccadon123
I like the pairing. As far as the "cons" mentioned above, those things can be coached/taught. You can't teach/coach the "pros" they both posses.

The bad passes under pressure etc will reduce with experience, confidence and coaching. The speed and puck moving ability will only get better.

I'm actually thrilled we finally have a player (Sbisa) that can come in and contribute right away. When is the last time we had one of those? Lindross?

I like this pairing but the one I don't like is Timmo and Coburn (not because they are bad together) but they are our 2 best D' and I think them split up and paired with someone else would improve the D' even more...just my opinion though
mchrissy77
I've liked the pairing thus far, but I'm afraid their inexperience is going to get exposed tonight.
propp16
They'll go through some growing pains but, in the long run, the team will be better for it.
Forranach
I like it. But I think they may need to split up from time to time.
phillyfan08
i like the pairing so far, they have made mistakes but they seem to never usually make huge mistakes that lead to easy goals for the oppenent. so far not too bad

A great match with these two...I expect the occasional mistake but its all apart of growing up in this league your gonna have bumps in the road. Hopefully tho one of them can put the puck in the Net because our D really lacks any type of offensive threat

true but at this point i'd be happy with them(the whole D) just playing solid defense

oh yea no doubt I agree 100% but I'm just saying it would be nice to have somebody get going a grab a few goals here and there

They've looked good together so far, but I wouldn't mind them playing with a more experianced D partner; however, with our D being so badly injured at the moment, them playing together has looked just fine. Yes, they've made mistakes at times, but as others have said, that happens; that's how you learn the game!

If Carle would stop making no-look backhanded passes and Sbisa would pass the puck sooner instead of trying to skate through the entire length of the ice I would feel better, but they have been playing well so far. I see good things ahead with these two guys.

Against Montreal Sbisa played a lot with Timonen and Coburn was with Carle.

I really liked these Pairings. I think Coburn and Carle can be a great pairing once our defense gets healthy around christmas.

I like these pairings, too. I think they have a better balance on defense this way. Timonen is the most experienced d-man and can now take care of the most inexperienced d-man in Sbisa.

I agree that Sbisa needs to get rid of the puck sooner. If he keeps taking all of the big bodychecks he's taking now, he's not going to last very long.

I'd love to see one of these guys play with Parent. One stay at home, one offensive minded.

Once we get Parent and Jones back, we will finally have a good defensive unit.

+1, both pairings looked good; well, except the spill Coburn took in the first, but was able to get help from Carle, to keep Montreal away from the net, & the couple turn overs that Carle had (which he redeemed himself on by then blocking the Habs shot(s) through most of the game. (I beleive he, Sbisa, Timonen & Alberts were the ones with the most blocked pucks last night, but I might be off. I know Carle & Sbisa blocked quite a few shots in the third.)

I'd like to see Luca play with Ryan down the road, but right now I think both guys need a guy with at least a few years of experiance as their partner.

I hate to say it, but if Alberts continues to play like he has been in the past few games, I think Ryan will find himself back with the Phantoms when he comes back. I think that stinks because he did a great job of making the team out of camp, but the injuries on the back end (all of them, obviously, especially his) definitely hurt his chances of being with the Flyers when he comes back. dry.gif I hope I'm wrong, & he stays with the Flyers when he comes back, but that'll only happen if there's still some injuries on the back end, OR IF Alberts reverts back to his sloppy-turn over-can't block the puck-don't like to take a hit near the boards type play that he was playing when he first got here.

Good point...i feel exactly the same way. It seems we are always waiting for someone to fine tune his skills on the Phantoms. It's frustrating as h311 when you see other teams with young prospects contributing.
RyGuy#44
from what ive seen they work really well together

It's Sbisa-Timonen as of right now.
