Nice thread.I say Gags.

Any of the top 3 is a good choice. I took Carter because of the GWGs and the fact I hope he's found his game like Richie did last year. I was happy when the Flyers got them both as I had them slotted in Philly after watching them in the WJCs. I hoped for 1 but we were lucky enough to get both. Those 2 will lead us to the Cup(s).

Before tonite, it was a toss up between Gags and Carts but after OT, Carts deserves it!
Better luck next time, Gags and Richie!

It's tough
Richards has had a hand in all our wins ans setup many a goal, and played pretty good when we were slumping. Has most points as well.
Gagne has played great since coming back this year. And a nice +/-.
I would say Carts though. Back to back shorties, and some clutch GWG's.

Carter, of course, with two OT goals and also has a team high 8 goals so far.
Gagne as the number two guy....I personally didn't expect him to come back this year like he has. I expected an overly cautious and timid play style. I'm happy I was wrong.

Definitely Carter, but Gagne has had an awesome month too. Carter = most improved. Gagne = comeback player of the month/year.

I have to give it to JC, because he's clutch, and clutch is everything.
But Gagne has bounced back from last year's problems quite impressively.

I went with Jeff Carter. He's been great since the season started. I wanted to go with Hartnell who has also been a beast, He's been all over the place on the ice. But two game winning goals in OT sealed it for me.

Simon Gagne (7G, 4A, 11PTS, +6) [ 18 ] ** [23.38%]
Gags gets my nod for coming off of a 1 year hiatus and not showing a single spec of rust.

He actually has 5 assists and 12 points, so he has more points in less games than Carter and also clearly the best plusminus of all forwards. I think he's done everything better than Carter so far, so I'm pretty much shocked how almost everyone is picking Carter ahead of Gagné. I guess people are just having so high standards on Gagné that his success is taken as granted and a streaky player like Carter gets recognized when he's in one of his hot streaks.
I voted CARTER!
Danny who?

+1! Gags has been a steady performer all month, not just on a streak. And as far as steady performances I give Luca Sbisa mad props for a solid first 10 games in the NHL!!

Well I certainly believe Gagne is deserving of the player of the month, but I don't think Carter is less deserving because he has been streaky in his young career. A great month is a great month regardless if the player is streaky over the rest of the season.
I didn't even vote because I had a tough time choosing between Gags, Carter, and Richards.

I voted Gags but completely understand the point you're making, put it this way...These days i'm glad Carter is on our side.
Carter, then Knuble, then Gagne... It's pretty equal for me between those 3.

Despite the votes, we could always just say we had three players of the month for October.

Richards & Gagne were playing
VERY WELL during our first 6 games. (Heck, their line was the only line putting up points in the first 3 games.) They continued to contributed when we started winning.
Carter on the other had, did play pretty well during the later half of the losing "drought," (his 2 shorties,) but he
really came on when we started winning, & is a big part of
WHY we started winning (the 2 OT Winners.)
Just making a suggestion that you can take, or leave.

I'm not talking about their careers, but the month, like the poll asks. I think Gagné has been more consistent and therefore more deserving.

gotta say gagne here. he wasn't as clutch as carter but he came back from his injury very well and has been a sparkplug in every game. carter has been so good too! coulda given it to either of them. let's hope we get this season back on track and stay there!
