I like Gratton, I was kinda bitter when we traded him in the first place, glad to see him back. Mainly I like him because he's related to former Flyer Chris Gratton. They're cousins, right? In all honesty, laugh if you will, I'd take Gratton over Asham on Cotes line, ****, I'd take Eager over Asham. If we didn't have Asham we could have a reason to go out and try to get Eager back. Gratton will do though, however, I'm sure he wont play a game for the Flyers this season.

I'm telling you right now. I have an ability to glimpse into the future without knowing it. Sometimes I'll think of an episode of my favorite TV show and BOOM it'll be on TV that night.
Today, I thought of Josh Gratton on the way home. I thought of a game I went to in the playoffs during their cup year. It was a game where he scored in. BOOM he's back with the Flyers.
This is really freaky but I know I have some sort of power. This has happened several times.

Haha, me too. But it's with the Phillies. I'll just randomly walk into the room and think "Come on...home run" BOOM home run.

Meh, not a big deal if you ask me. The main thing I remember about Chris Gratton is how he left on a bad note. He had plenty of nasty things to say on the way out. I hope Josh is nothing like him.

Well if you think about it the predators got a prospect. They also got a prospect from the rangers for virtually nothing. Hugh Jessiman 1 of only 2 players from the 2003 entry draft that did not make the nhl. Only in new york.....

It's a move to give the phantoms a legit enforcer if anything.
flyersfan597
Oct 31 2008, 12:38 PM
This is a move for the Phantoms right now Clackson and Szwez are handling most of the fighting duties, but bringing Gratton back gives them a heavyweight to put in the lineup. Clackson will fight anyone, but Gratton will take on the bigger players so Clackson does not get himself hurt. I would assume that this means Klotz is on his way to the ECHL .

According to the "Prospect Tracker" in the Prospect forum, he's played 2 games for the Phantoms. However, he's only 19 so he has time to mature, & become a great enforcer for the Phantoms/Flyers in the coming years. If he goes to the ECHL, I imagine it'll only be a + down the road for him as well as the Flyers orginization! (Though, I can't say it'll be a + for the oponents he comes in contact with.

we have a damned farm team full of enforcers. sure, cool, have an enforcer MAYBE TWO.
he'll throw down and contribute nothing else except a stupid roughing penalty every now and then that costs us a game.
i'm sick of the enforcer thing.

if ur sick of the enforcer thing maybe u should hop on the redwings bandwaggon, or go watch tennis. and gratton isnt just a thug, dude can play the game. get a clue
i think this is a great move, the phantoms got a legit enforcer and great team guy. gretzky once called josh gratton the best teammate a guy could have. this also provides a nice back up to the flyers enforcer if cote gets hurt or suspended

True that, I mean Cote will be fighting a lot this year. I don't mind seeing Gratton play a couple of games for the Flyers.

Agreed. I wasn't sure why we brought him to the Flyers at first but I can guess now that they were bringing him in because they were moving Downie and, to be honest, I think he's turned out to be a good replacement. He works hard and brings energy to the game and he doesn't really take stupid penalties.

Gratton, even though he can be considered a fighter, isn't a totally useless player. He's a hard worker, and I've been impressed with what he's brought to this team.
It's rare you have a fourth line that's actually solid.

Definitely played a great, solid game tonight. He's another player that came away with a point for his efforts. You gotta like it when the players showing effort & hard work during the game come away with a point when all is said & done.

I'm a few days behind on this as well, but congrats to Gratts on his goal. Hopefully, he is able to play against the Caps tomorrow night after having a few days to rest.
