I think it would be good if Hatcher could return. He is big and makes a difference. We need more leadership like that.

^ One of the articles I posted yesterday says Hatch has stopped skating and it's unlikely he'll return this year.

Wow, this topic ranks up there with the Offseason news thread. Nice idea, FlyersGirl and anyone else involved. Better than frequenting 5 or 10 local sites everyday.

You don't know how happy this makes me!

I really hope Hatch comes back. I love the guys attitude. He's also a cool guy to meet.

Camden Courier Post:
Flyers trying to forget bad start
QUOTE
Flyers recalled forwards Darroll Powe and Jared Ross from the Phantoms in the event that Gagne and/or Briere cannot play tonight. Stevens said Biron will return to the nets tonight after looking bad on two regulation goals and two shootout attempts against the Sharks. Biron is now 0-3-1 with a 5.00 GAA.

Two years ago Stevens saw first-hand how quickly a coach's job can be lost as the result of a slow start. He replaced Ken Hitchcock after the Flyers got off a 1-6-1 start. Stevens said he's trying to look on the bright side of the Flyers' dark record. "There's an awful lot of good things, but the bottom line is we need to tighten up and win hockey games and that hasn't changed," he said. "The energy and the fight and the determination we had on our bench (Wednesday night) was as good as it's been. We're not looking outside the locker room or anywhere else. We need to take care of this ourselves."

Philadelphia Daily News:
Changes likely coming unless Flyers start winning
QUOTE
Danny Briere did not practice yesterday because of what is believed to be a slight groin pull. He is expecting to play tonight. The Flyers are calling it a "lower body" injury. He is listed as day-to-day . . . Simon Gagne, who missed Wednesday's game with the flu, was not at practice yesterday either, but coach John Stevens is hopeful he will be available tonight.
