I've been a member of this forum since January of last year. The forum has been fine, speed wise, until recently. Recently, the forum has become more sluggish. A simple task such as switching forums has become a hair pulling ordeal.

I know this isn't my computer, because all the other websites I visit are perfectly fine. And I know that this isn't just happening to me, because I can recall several times where other members have complained about the slow forum.


I've done everything I could think of: Try the lo-fi version, turn off avatars/signatures, etc., but nothing really changes.


Can someone provide an explanation for me?

I'm noticing it more now. I'm having a lot of problems posting. The screen will turn white and when I hit refresh it will have double posted.

Freaking game days are the worst.

I have noticed it too, but it was worse at one point in the offseason. Maybe it's the traffic?

That happens to me too. The weird part is, even though I double posted, it says that the person who posted before me was the last person to post.

Even though I'm a posting noob I've been lurking here since last season, and I've noticed it too.

All of these posts prove my point. I think something needs to be done along the lines of what mom said. Even right now I'm having trouble typing because of the sluggishness. My browser froze up during typing.

Sigs shouldn't and don't have anything to do with it. A message board is meant to have sigs. You can see the problems escalate when the traffic gets just a little bit higher on game nights. There's obviously a server problem.

When I try to post during on a GDT, sometimes, it takes forever for my post to be posted, and it takes me to a white screen, and the URL is different.

I've noticed it too when there is NOT a lot of people on here!

Agreed. I don't think it has anything to do with signatures. It's definitely a server issue.

Yeah something really needs to be done about this. Just had the same problem tonight except the IPS Driver screen was coming up. If you hit the refresh button it will double-post and will continue to post the same thing as many times as you need to hit the refresh button. Unfortunately the admin only stops by about once a month and is too oblivious of any board issues to know something is wrong.

It was acting up for me a couple days ago but has been fine ever since.

I'm going to close some of the larger threads and open new topics for them to see if that helps any.

I'm still havin problems, and there's only a few peeps on here!

I am too. The problems happen randomly and don't seem to be just on game nights anymore.

All Lo-fi is, is that it is a stripped down version of the message board. There is no color codes, and it uses less memory on the server. But again, its VERY basic.

No color?!?!

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think it's a problem we can sort out - more a problem with either the board software or the servers it is being hosted on.
