Today I looked at my schedule for the week and said, YES!!!! Opening night is almost here. It\'s a special game. And the Flyers did it right this year by scheduling it for a Saturday night, and vs. the NYR. 7PM Game. The Philles are off that day/night, so....
I\'m heading down with 3 buddies, and I hope to meet Matt Opaliski and some of the other regulars from this board.... Talked with my crew just now... Our plan is to head down early. Pit-stop @ Tony Lukes. Pick up an assortment of samwiches. And head for our new tailgate spot. At the corner of the reserved lot, near the 11st st entrance. M.Opaliski usually gets there early as well. So we should have a great area for our tailgate party.
Everyone should bring their own food and drink items.*If u can't bring beer, just post up. Matt or I would be glad to bring an extra 6-pack for whomever, provided you are legal.
But post other stuff you're bringing, things for the group:
Definite List:m.opaliski - hockey net, sticks, ball/puck, no lefty sticks though, mikes hard.
dj r - beer pong and flip cup table, enough cups for the games
SoJer4 - bean bag toss

Let's get things and some folks lined up early, good call indeed. I'll forego the reserved parking for the Home Opener and grab a spot backed up the Spectrum like we did for the 2007-2008 Playoffs, plenty of sidewalk if needed for the games, the crew, any guests and what not. If you folks are going to the game make it a point to drop by as we're a hospitable bunch, good times is what it's all about ...

I would probably catch a ton of slack for it from the wife but, I can make my other seat available if someone wasn't able to get through for a ticket to the Opener. Shoot me a PM if seriously interested ...
*I'd have to bump the oldest daughter from the line up thus the earful but there are 40 other games and she'll be going to a ton anyway

You shouldn't have a problem with finding a taker for the Opener with a week to go. I'm in a different spot whereas I'm willing to make room for a seat that's already taken ...

Man, you guys are in serious hate mode and it's sad to see it one sided. It's not like she's an idiot or anything. Just because she seems folksy doesn't mean she has an IQ of 70.
For the record, it's a shame that Obama and McCain are the best two candidates that the US can come up with (Sorry, i had to interject my personal opinion).

Given that the last thread mentioning Plain was closed rather quickly, it seems like those administering this board don't want the issue of Palin's being involved discussed...and the fact that its so blatantly political that its ridiculous. I said in the thread that was closed and I'll say it again....Palin shouldn't be there on opening night. Neither should McCain (OR Obama and Biden, my own preferred candidates).
Snider's bringing in his own politics in to the Flyers franchise (his contributions to McCain and the RNC are a matter of public record). What HE believes is his business, and he should contribute to whoever he supports.
But when he brings his personal politics into the Flyers team itself, it is a totally inappropriate thing. Those still attending the game and who feel the same way that I do about her presence should react visibly and loudly.

How about we not bring up whether Palin should be there or not in this thread...
