Shout outs to my txting buddies for today since it was pretty much just me til rookie camp started.
I guess no one paid attention to my report from Friday but the Flyers are skating on their own and the Monday of Rookie on ice campwas no exception. I arrived @ 745 am to see the vets show their stuff.
Today's participants were
Vaananen, Timonen, Kukkonen, Gagne, Lupul, Hartnell, Bartulis, Kane, Munroe, Biron, Coburn, Cote, Carter, Guenin, Syvret, Eminger and Jones plus Russian player invited to camp that I only have the name of Igor and really I am not quite sure that was right.
Players ran drills then did a scrimmage. The Orange had a pretty clear advantage and while I didn't keep score it clear who won.
It was interesting watching how the black team had better zone possession where the Orange squad was mostly doing offense on the rush.
Gagne and Lupul were absolutely Flying today. The new Russian kid was pretty spot on as well.
The Rookies all came out to watch the goings on taking place before them on the ice.

Then Rookie camp.
Steve Downie was late arriving. coming to the ice almost 10 min after everyone else.
Ryan Parent, Chris Zarb, Ned Lukacevic, Claude Giroux were to me clearly the stand outs.

Ryan Parent is clearly on a mission and was spot on for everything I watched today.
In the Scrimmage Orange beat black 5-1.
Claude Giroux was playing center.

Haha, yes it is! I've been randomly looking at different hockey pics ALL off-season, & watching the NHL Network on tv, just to hold me over until this season starts. Now that traning camp is just about here, & the rookies are going through their rookie camp, I'm even more excited! I can't wait for the season to start!

Wow, you took killer pics Ladyneat! I am going down on Saturday and I can't wait. It is great to see Gagne on the ice, I can't wait to the season starts.

I didn't even know I had NHL Network until the fourth of July. I was bored, & randomly flipping through tv channels to see what was on tv. Somehow, I landed on an old playoff game from 2007 of the Wild's(I believe it was.) Though, it wasn't the Flyers, it was still hockey. I was home alone, & had nothing else to do, so I figured what the heck, why not!?! Since then, I've been watching random games of different teams to hold me over.

I was also able to re-watch Flyers/Pens games 3, 4 & 5 from the playoffs again. It was interesting to watch, & pick up on the mistakes the guys made, that I hadn't picked up on during the original airing of the game. Now I know why they watch tapes after their games!

Okay, sorry my 'story' was off topic. I'll be quiet now!
