Therien to be new voice of Flyers radio
Bernie1
oddly enough, i think this is an improvement. Bundy sounded pretty good on CSN and stuff. Propp always seemed lost and a bit dumbfounded when he started to ramble on.

I really like how Therien never "beats around the bush" , when they suck, he tells you they suck. He may be perfect for radio. I hope so, we'll see( or hear I guess I should say).

I agree Propp wasn't the best.
T Mears
Well, I hope he has a little more emotion then he did with the Flyers post game show on Comcast.

He sounded pretty boring when I watched him.

I think Therien will be horrible on the radio. We'll see. I thought Propp was fine, not good, but fine.

I thought Propp was actually pretty good but maybe that's just me. This doesn't really matter much to me though.

It doesn't really matter to me either, I usually only listen to the radio broadcast if the game is on VS.

i didnt mind propp, but he did seem to ramble alot, so maybe therien will be an improvement

I think this is a great move. Therien offers a lot more insight than what Propp had to offer. I lvoed him as a player, but let's be real...listening to him was like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard. Like Meltzer said in his article:

"To be totally honest, I never thought Propper was a natural in the broadcast booth. As a player, he was as smooth as they come and he's engaging to speak with one on one but when I first heard him as an announcer, I didn't think it was the right fit at all. He seemed stiff and unsure of himself. Over the years, he improved considerably, worrying less about saying the wrong thing and just giving his take on the game."

I couldn't agree with that more. When i first saw Therien offer his view of the games on TV, I was surprisingly impressed. I always thought he was monotone when I heard him in interviews as a player, but to tell you the truth, I am very much interested in what he has to say.

Propp had a lot on his plate and i wish him luck with his other activities.

Since this is the FMB and we argue about anything and everything, I'll throw my hat in the ring. Therien had 40 minutes to prepare his thoughts and words in between periods, I'm not sure that will translate into success on the radio.

Should be entertaining. Therrin always tells it like it is. Propp was alright, but sometimes I think he forgot that he was broadcasting as he just rambled on during playing time.

This would be one subject about which I wouldn't mind hearing "I told you so."

If Propp is that poor (I haven't heard him because out of broadcast range), mayeb they'll hire him for NBC. It can be him and Eddie O in a 3 hour ramble-fest every weekend.

I don't like Therrien but that's just me.

seeing as im not in the broadcast area for tv or radio, all i ever do is listen to the flyers broadcast on nhl.com, unless its on versus or they play a more local team. i love the group of tim saunders and brian propp. that is what defind flyers radio for me. i hope therien can give me just as good of memories.

Therien is a far better broadcaster than player, he'll be just fine. But I rarely listen to games on the radio, so after the preseason, I won't hear much of them.

Does anyone know why Propp is being replaced?
