I did notice. Heh.
I'm coming around on this. It takes me a while to wrap my mind around something I'm not anticipating, especially when I become obsessed with something else. I'm getting there, though...
As a I said in my last comment, he's a steal at that price if he's able to sustain his play from last year. All I know about Hejda is what I read. To whom could he be compared?
So, who do we have on D now (assuming this trade is happening)? Timonen, Coburn, Hatcher, Jones, Hejda, Eminger, Vaananen, Kukkonen. Am I missing anyone? Is it safe to assume Kukkonen will probably not even suit up for (m)any games? Assuming Hatch is on LTIR, Jones and Hejda would seem like a pretty natural second pair, right?
I hate trying to compare two players directly, but I would say Volchenkov with a little less hitting and a little more puck moving.
Unless Coburn is ready to quarterback his own pairing, I'd say Timonen - Coburn, Hejda - Jones, Eminger - Vaananen (we'd have Kukkonen, Parent, Curry, Ramholt, Ratchuk, and Syvret available to fill holes I would guess).
